SPOTTED! The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is in Providence!

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is in town and will be at the Roger Williams Food Truck Festival on Friday, July 16th.

Don’t miss out on an opportunity to see one of the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles this Friday at the Roger Williams Food Truck Festival. This is one of few around the United States on their tour to different cities, and it’s making a stop in Providence for Food Truck Friday from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm. It will be located at 1000 Elmwood Ave.

The Wienermobile has been around since the 1930’s and gone through many changes over the years, even disappearing in the 1960’s and 1970’s due to a marketing strategy change by the company. But it was reintroduced to the streets in 1986, and has been around touring the States ever since.

The drivers for the Wienermobile train at Hot Dog High in Madison, Wisconsin. The company receives over a thousand applications every year for the 12 open positions, and many of the applicants are college students looking for road trip experience.

Sometimes, the drivers let some people inside to have a look at the delicious interior, which has hot dogs on the dashboard and drivers must fasten their “meat belts” when they are on the road.

Be sure to stop by and see the Wienermobile, as well as all the other food trucks this Friday and at the Roger Williams Food Truck Festival.
