FLICKERS’ Rhode Island International Film Festival’s 22nd season

More than 300 films will be screened from August 7th through the 12th during FLICKERS’ 22nd season of the Rhode Island International Film Festival! Considered one of the top 10 festivals in the US, RIIFF features the best in international independent cinema and is recognized as a credentialed launch pad for emerging talent. RIIFF accepts films of any type, in any genre, and qualifies them for Academy Awards in the live action, documentary, and animation short film categories through an affiliation with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. It also qualifies films for British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards and Canadian Screen Awards. Over 6,500 films were submitted for consideration this year!

Beyond screenings, RIIFF offers a variety of events that encourage filmmakers and festival attendees to explore the city and learn about filmmaking. Tickets are $10 for general admission to all screenings except for the opening night gala, which costs $15 and will be held from 7-11:30 PM on Tuesday, August 7th at Providence Performing Arts Center Tickets are available online and at the door. If you want to see multiple films, consider special options including a day pass for $50, Flickers’ Providence pass for $60, or the festival 5-pack for $40.
