Once again, Pamplona’s Running of the Bulls comes to the streets of Providence at Amos House’s favorite fundraiser, Get Gored for Good on Sunday, April 29.
Not your typical 5k, this road race meanders through the streets of Downcity with runners trying hard to avoid obstacles such as the Providence Roller Derby dressed as “rollerbulls.” As always, this event is family friendly and even includes an option for a shorter 1.5 mile route that’s perfect for little legs.
Amos House’s mission is to help the hungry and homeless in Rhode Island by providing services to men, women and children in our community. They provide a wide range of services including support at a point of crisis as well as long term job training, educational guidance, employment opportunities and housing services that help people find their pathway to stability. As a nonprofit, it is fundraisers such as this one that helps them raise money to continue their critical work.
Get Gored for Good wraps up with an outdoor community party in Burnside Park with food, live music, games and a mechanical bull. This year kids can also play in the new playground, Brandon’s Beach at Burnside Place.
Online registration ends on April 26 at 1:10, but they will accept day-of registration on event day.
