Providence’s annual St. Patrick’s Day tradition is back for another year. The St. Patrick’s Day 5k and Parade takes place Saturday, March 10 at 11am.
The event begins at Smith Street and Hilltop Avenue. The parade travels eastward on Smith Street and ends at the Rhode Island State House. The Mayor of Athlone, Ireland, Aengus O’Rourke and 30 members of the Irish Military Police will be attended this year’s parade.
Residents and visitors should be advised that Smith Street from in front of the State House to Wyndham Avenue will be closed at 9am Saturday, and reopened at 2pm.
