Thursday, March 29 the Power of Place Summit returns to the Rhode Island Convention Center. Hosted by GrowSmartRI, this year’s keynote speaker is The Atlantic’s correspondent James Fallows. Fallows has traveled extensively across the U.S. reporting on small and mid-sized cities. In his project City Makers: American Futures, he chronicles how these cities have rebounded and reinvented themselves into more vibrant places. His presentation at this year’s summit is titled, “Community Revitalization and Reinvention: Best Practices from Across America.”
The summit features a full day of speakers, workshops and networking opportunities. In addition to the keynote speaker, Governor Gina Raimondo will offer remarks on progress being made in Rhode Island, and Professor of Practice at the University of Pennsylvania, Bob Yaro will speak on “Rebooting New England”.
