Bump up your winter activities and check out the brand new attraction at the Alex + Ani City Center. The downtown Providence Rink is excited to announce that they are now a winter destination for bumper cars on ice in addition to ice skating.
This Tuesday, December 19, Mayor Elorza and the Providence Parks Department will celebrate the unveiling of bumper cars on ice. Providence is one of only three cities across the country, the first outdoor rink, and the only place in New England to bring this unique activity to the public. “I can already see families from across Rhode Island enjoying bumper cars on ice in the heart of Providence,” said Mayor Elorza. “I’m certain that this unique winter attraction will be incredibly popular. I invite folks to come out, have fun, and enjoy all that downtown has to offer after they go for ride.”
Climb into a car, fasten your seatbelt and glide forwards, sideways and backwards around the ice using a joystick which allows for a full 360º turn radius.
This fun activity is open to the public and fun for all ages. Tickets for bumper cars are $12 per rider for 20 minutes. Children ages three to five ride free seated with an adult. For more information visit the Alex + Ani City Center website.
