See the Manton Avenue Project Campfire Plays during Fringe PVD

On Wednesday July 26th through Friday, July 28th, see performances of The Manton Avenue Project’s Around the Campfire: The Storytelling Play!, the culminating production of MAP’s summer dialogue class. The shows are scheduled at 7 PM each night at AS220’s Black Box Theater, 95 Empire Street, as part of Fringe Fest PVD, and will appear again on Saturday, July 29th at 2 PM at the WaterFire Arts Center, 475 Valley Street.

Ten young Manton Avenue Project playwrights in 6th-10th grades created the original plays with their dramaturgy mentors at a four-day writing retreat at Nature’s Classroom in Charlton, MA. They met around the campfire each evening, took late night hikes, and learned how to call to owls and coyotes. They also experienced classroom visits by storytellers and shared their own stories about their lives and memories. The resulting plays are fun and imaginitive. Tickets are pay-what-you-can at the door. For more information, visit mantonavenueproject.org.
