Providence Children’s Film Festival: Feb 17-26

Following its “Explore New Worlds” theme, the 8th annual Providence Children’s Film Festival (PCFF) will screen 14 feature length films and 75 short films from around the globe. The festival aims to present the best of independent and international children’s cinema to inspire, delight, educate, and connect a diverse community of people of all ages. Tickets are generally $10 for adults and $8 for youth and seniors, but packages are available as well, from an All-Access Pass for $175 to a Film Fanatic 10-Pack for $75.

Kick off the festival at the Opening Night Party at 5:30 pm on Friday, February 17th, featuring a screening of Short ‘n Sweet Shorts at 6:45, followed by a screening of Academy Award nominee My Life as a Zucchini at 7:30.

The festival continues through February 26th in various locations throughout the city. Near downtown, you’ll find events at the RISD Chace Center’s Metcalf Auditorium, 20 North Main Street; RISD Auditorium, 17 Canal Walk; and AS220’s Main Stage, 115 Empire Street.

Check the schedule for screening times, workshops, and the closing Festival Award Ceremony. Look for select admission-free screenings, but make sure to reserve a spot online! For up to date info, like the festival on Facebook.
