Don’t miss your chance to enjoy 17 pop up parklets in downtown Providence! On Friday, September 18th, our city is participating in Park(ing) Day, an annual worldwide event that inspires people to re-imagine their environment and their place in it. Organized by the American Institute of Architects, Rhode Island Chapter, and the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, it celebrates our sense of community and enhances public awareness about the importance of green space in our urban environment.
You’ll see clusters of parklets on Westminster Street, in front of the Arcade and between Dorrance and Union. Several parklets are also planned on Washington Street, and Use this map to find all participating locations downtown, and follow Park(ing) Day on Twitter for updates.
