Downtown Providence: the Journal’s Neighborhood of the Week

Projo full page 1With a bold headline and a series of vibrant photos, downtown Providence was featured as the Neighborhood of the Week in The Providence Journal on Sunday, August 16th. Staff writer Christine Dunn highlighted a variety of new projects that should continue to attract a mix of working-age adults and empty-nesters to the evolving city core.

The Promenade has just added 196 units to a new building, immediately adjacent to I-95 and Providence Place, and the Kinsley Building, on Westminster Street, is expected to open with 44 new units this fall. The owners of the Providence G have also recently purchased the Union Trust building at 170 Westminster Street, and they plan to convert 10 floors to residential use.

For active downtown residents and employees, VP Fitness opened earlier this year at 10 Dorrance, and Club Run Studio is scheduled to open soon at 116 Union Street.
