Join 30,000 festival-goers for a milestone weekend celebration, the 40th annual RI PrideFest, themed IndiVISIBLE! Start with the Countdown to Pride block party on Friday, June 19th at the Dark Lady, with Taylor Dayne performing at 7 PM. On Saturday, June 20th, from noon to 8 PM, head to the South Water Street greenway for the free festival, which features a kids’ zone, youth zone, beer/wine & spirits garden and more than 100 vendors. Watch performances by by American Idol’s Crystal Bowersox, Pearl & the Beard, Shannel from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Mimi Gonzalez, Sir Ari Gold, Pamela Means, Derek Capobianco, Heather Rose in Clover, Shryne and more! At 8:45 PM, the Illuminated Night Parade kicks off in downtown Providence. The fun continues with outdoor block parties organized by the Dark Lady & Alley Cat (at 17 and 19 Snow Street) and the Providence Eagle (124 Snow Street). PrideFest is organized by RI Pride, a nonprofit organization that recognizes, promotes, and celebrates the diversity and successes of the state’s GLBT community.
