This Independence Day, support Rhode Island’s independents! Buy Local RI is organizing Indie Week, a week-long campaign from July 1st through the 7th, modeled on the nationwide Independents Week facilitated by the American Independent Business Alliance. Its goal is to introduce consumers to local businesses and bring awareness about the benefits of shopping local. Ultimately, it should inspire customers to change their spending habits year-round!

In Providence, local businesses are participating by offering special discounts. Consumers are encouraged to pledge to shop local all week and spread the word to their networks using #indieweekRI on social media.
