The 2015 Rhode Island Spring Flower & Garden Show

flowershow2014-25After enduring frigid temps and mounds of snow, we’re all craving a glimpse of spring! This weekend, the 22nd annual Rhode Island Spring Flower & Garden Show will remind you about the beautiful season on the horizon. From Thursday, February 19th through Sunday, February 22nd, the Garden Adventures themed show will bring inspiring interactive displays, special speaking programs and demonstrations to the Rhode Island Convention Center. Highlights include a session on successful vegetable gardening, growing and cooking delicious food year-round, a look back at 35 years of This Old House, and a screening of Maya the Bee, presented by the Providence Children’s Film Festival.

The Rhode Island Environmental Education Association (RIEEA) is coordinating fun children’s programming in the Kids Adventure Zone including storytelling, puppet shows, and animal demonstrations. Kids will also enjoy ongoing self-guided nature activities such as scavenger hunts, Save the Bay’s marine touch tank, and the Roger Williams Park Zoo Zoomobile.

The show runs from 10 am to 8 pm, Thursday through Saturday, and from 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday. Single day tickets are available through Ticketmaster, AAA, and at the ticket window during the show. Box office prices are $19 for adults, $17 for AAA members with valid ID, $16 for seniors, and $7 for children (ages 7-12). Younger children are free. On Thursday through Saturday, a discounted evening ticket is offered to people who arrive after 5 PM.

Enjoy the show, and let the countdown to spring begin!
