On January 22nd, FirstWorks will kick off its 2015 “Artistic Icons” series with a performance by MUMMENSCHANZ, the legendary Swiss troupe that revolutionized wordless theatrical entertainment. Dressed in black, the troupe combines classical dance and comedy to create witty, playful stories. MUMMENSCHANZ co-founder Floriana Frassetto and Erminio Pinque, founder of BIG NAZO, will share insights at a FirstWorks Artist Up-Close Talk immediately following the show.

The “Artistic Icons” series highlights arts whose work has dramatically influenced the fields of music, dance, and theater. It continues on February 25th with An Evening of Chamber Music featuring legendary composer Philip Glass, and concludes on March 27th with a flamenco music and dance performance by Soledad Barrio and Noche Flamenca.
