The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation is celebrating its 10-year anniversary during Flames of Hope: A Celebration of Life, from October 10th through the 12th. The local nonprofit has helped tens of thousands affected by breast cancer through education, support, and awareness over the past decade.
The schedule includes a variety of events that are open to the public:
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11
Free Education, Support and Fun for the Entire Family
“Celebration Village” at Station Park will come alive at 2pm, bustling with excitement, free resources, and fun. Explore breast health demonstrations, fitness exhibitions, screenings, information,support, and plenty activities for kids.
Food, Celebrity Chef Mary Ann Esposito, and More!
Mary Ann Esposito, one of America’s most beloved chefs, will be on-site conducting a free food demo, using ingredients courtesy of Venda Ravioli. Additionally, attendees will have access to a rare meet and greet and book signing!
Bon Jovi and U2 Fans, Get Ready!
Come rock out to Bon Jovi tribute band One Wild Night and U2 tribute band The Joshua Tree. Free and open to all Flames of Hope-goers!
Illuminations of Life Ceremony
That evening on the State House steps, the captivating Illuminations of Life Ceremony takes place and concludes with a torch procession—considered as the pinnacle of the weekend.
Exclusive ARS VIP Pink Party
Saturday’s celebration concludes with an exclusive party. Come close out the day in style with an all-you-can-eat food station, a pink cake, free drink tickets, and live music. Tickets for this event are $50 and can be purchased online at flamesofhoperi.com.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12
Run/Walk Series
The celebration will conclude on Sunday with the Flames of Hope Run/Walk Series, made up of three races: the signature Gloria Gemma 5K presented by The Walking Company, Kids Fun Run presented by Macy’s, and Pink Pump Palooza presented by Nordstrom.
