Manton Avenue Project plays move downtown for the summer!

Off-the-Grid-Poster3-662x1024Summertime calls for a change of scenery! AS220’s black box theater at 95 Empire is hosting the Manton Avenue Project’s Off the Grid: the electricity plays! on August 2nd and 3rd. On Saturday, watch FREE performances at 2 and 5 PM, and on Sunday, see them at 2 PM, followed by a talk back.

These shows are the culmination of the Manton Avenue Project’s summer Dialogue program, a playwriting workshop held at the MAP clubhouse in Olneyville. For this unique program, seven playwrights in 6th through 8th grade have partnered with professional artists to write and co-star in 10 minute plays based on their own storylines. This year, the shows focus on electricity’s impact on our lives and how we can use it more sustainably.

The Manton Avenue Project’s mission is to unleash the creative voices and unique potential of children living in Providence’s Olneyville neighborhood. For more details about the organization and its shows, visit the website, or connect with MAP on Facebook. Visit Eventbrite to reserve a seat!
