Spectacular Celebration at Aurora!

ID_AuroraOpening_2Celebrate the official opening of downtown’s newest arts and cultural venue, Aurora, on Saturday night, May 17th from 5 PM to 2 AM! Show up for a FREE party featuring live music by the Atlantic Thrills, Nightmom, and The Sugar Honey Iced Tea along with video projections, an aerial dance performance by Thea Ulrich, and other fun surprises.

Recently purchased by Cornish Associates, the gathering space at 276 Westminster Street formerly housed the Roots Cafe and Black Repertory Company. It has been beautifully remodeled, but its original programming mission will continue, offering a range of events including live music, film screenings, and art installations. With a larger cabaret stage, a gorgeous bar, and the mezzanine removed, it feels like a completely new addition to the downtown scene.

Check it out on Saturday night, and visit the website for a calendar of upcoming events including monthly Clambake gatherings for local designers and Low Frequency Lounge nights on Tuesdays. The bar will be open to the public on nights when it isn’t programmed, and the space will be available for private functions.

RSVP through Facebook, and read more about Aurora in The Providence Journal.
