The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation’s 8th annual three-day event, Flames of Hope: A Celebration of Life™, kicks off with an opening reception on Friday, October 11th. Throughout the weekend, thousands of people will converge on Station Park in downtown Providence for a variety of events that promote breast cancer awareness and education.
On Saturday, October 12th, the celebration village opens at 3 PM, with live performances starting at 3:30. At 6:30, watch the Illuminations of Life ceremony, a torch procession leading from the State House to the Waterplace Park basin. The ARS Pink Party, a special ticketed event, begins at 7, and WaterFire continues throughout the night.
The Flames of Hope Run/Walk series takes place on Sunday, October 13th with a kids fun run at 10:30 and the Gloria Gemma 5K and 10K runs at 11:15. For more details, download a weekend schedule, or visit flamesofhoperi.com.
