Experience the Imagination Center, a new place for family friendly activities in Kennedy Plaza! The Downtown Providence Parks Conservancy, the City of Providence, and Southwest Airlines invite the public to a grand opening on Thursday, August 22nd to kick off a full week of celebrations!

• 10 AM: Join Mayor Taveras for a ribbon cutting at the Imagination Center
• 10:30 AM: Bring your kids to KidoInfo Storytime, where Mayor Taveras will read his book, How to Do Well in School. Other readings will follow, and will be accompanied by face painting, chalk drawing, and bubbles!
• 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM: Witness the finale of KidoInfo’s Art in the Park series, ‘Oh the Places WE’LL Go!’
• 12:30 to 1 PM: Line up for a blank book giveaway and free PVD Pops popsicles.
• 1 to 2 PM: Play table games and other activities in the Imagination Playground!
• 4:30 to 7:30 PM: Listen to local favorites Roz Raskin and the Rice Cakes, Tyler James Kelley (of The Silks) + Jess Powers at the Burnside Park Music Series and Beer Garden!
