Most cities our size would love to crack the top 10 in any of Travel + Leisure’s America’s Favorite Cities polls. Squeezing into the top 5 would be considered a major feat. But, this year, our small city of 180,000 people topped the list of dining destinations in the U.S. That’s right, T+L readers ranked Providence #1, right above the acclaimed foodie meccas of New York City, New Orleans, Chicago, and Portland, OR. We’re definitely in good company, and we’re proud to be leading the pack.
January’s the perfect time to see what the buzz is all about! During Providence Restaurant Weeks—running from January 13th through the 26th—three course prix fixe lunches are offered for $14.95, and three-course, prix fixe dinners are just $29.95. Nearly a dozen of the 60 participating restaurants are located downtown: Bravo Brasserie, The Capital Grille, Capriccio, Centro, Fleming’s, Gracie’s, Local 121, Luxe Burger Bar, McCormick & Schmick’s, Pot Au Feu, Ten Prime Steak & Sushi, and Veggie Fun. For updated menus, visit the website often, and check for restaurants that are participating for dinner only, or are offering 2-for-1 specials.
