Wave hello and goodbye to your favorite farmers market vendors at the final market of the season, this Friday, October 26th from 11-2. Pick up some apples, herbs, baked goods, and of course, pumpkins before Halloween!
Then bring your kids back to Burnside Park for Spooky (but Not So Scary) Storytime! This FREE program runs from 10:30-12:30 on Saturday, October 27th. You’ll hear guest authors and illustrators read their own scary books and seasonal favorites including local author/illustrator Alison Paul’s The Crow: A Not So Scary Story; New York based author/illustrator Cambria Evans’ Bone Soup; illustrator Jen Corace’s Gibbous Mooney Wants to Bite You!; and illustrator Kelly Murphy’s Creepy Monsters, Sleepy Monsters: a lullaby.
After listening to spooky stories, you can create an interactive haunted house, learn about a life-size human anatomy skeleton, and create skeleton crafts to hang in the trees. Then explore the spooky playground, have your face painted by artist RattScalion, dance to some Halloween tunes, and eat tasty fall treats from the food trucks! Visit kennedyplaza.org for more details, or sign up for the event on Facebook!
