Biltmore Garage Prepares for 6 New Retail Units

If you’ve walked between the Biltmore and Trinity Rep recently, you’ve probably noticed the construction on the north side of Washington Street between Eddy and Union. The Biltmore Garage is undergoing a major transformation to get ready for the addition of 6 new commercial units! Peer into the large floor-to-ceiling windows below the wood awning, and check out the new spaces. This Cornish Associates project will certainly change the face of Washington Street, activating the street level of a block that had been underutilized for years.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for new businesses to move into a prime location close to the Rhode Island Convention Center, the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, hotels, Kennedy Plaza, City Hall, Westminster Lofts, the University of Rhode Island Feinstein campus and so much more. Most of the units are 850 square feet, but there’s also a larger space available on the corner of Union Street, next to the lobby entrance. We’re excited to hear that one of downtown’s most acclaimed restaurants, Gracie’s, is expanding by opening Ellie’s Bakery, an artisan cafe, in the garage this fall. Set your expectations high for Ellie’s cookies, tarts, muffins, and other treats. We know they’ll be impressive.

Interested in opening your own restaurant or boutique in the Biltmore Garage? Contact Joanna Levitt, Director of Commercial Leasing and Marketing for Cornish Associates, at (401) 421-0254.

To purchase a parking pass, visit the garage attendant on the ground floor at 51 Washington Street. You can choose a workday pass, giving you access from 6am-7pm, Monday through Friday for $185, or an unlimited monthly pass with 24 hour access for $220. Hourly and daily rates are reasonable too, with options ranging from $8 for 30-60 minutes to $15 for 4-12 hours. For updates, go to biltmoregarage.com and indowncity.com.
