Rock ‘n’ Roll Providence Half Marathon: August 19th

It’s not too late to sign up! Join thousands of other runners in the second annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Providence Half Marathon on Sunday, August 19th. The race starts at 7 AM near the State Capitol building on Gaspee Street, and leads runners along Benefit Street, Blackstone Boulevard, and other scenic East Side roads. The last three miles are spent circling around downtown before finishing on Francis Street near the Capitol. Along the way, listen to live bands performing alternative, classic rock, punk, funk and blues to help motivate you at every mile!

If a 13.1 mile run sounds intimidating, try the Rock ‘n’ Roll Providence Half Marathon Relay! Just grab a partner, and divide the run into 2 legs: 5 miles for the first part, and 8 miles for the second. You’ll both be treated to all of the same perks as half marathon runners including a commemorative finisher’s medal, Brook’s technical participant tee, and swag bag.

Once you pass through the finish line, you’ll be ready to celebrate with family and friends at a street party featuring headlining band Karmin. The pop-duo, best known for its hit song ‘Brokenhearted,’ will perform original songs and popular covers.

If you’re traveling from out of town, check  the Amtrak website for discounts, and find places to eat and things to do right here! You can also download the course map here, check here for road closure information, or visit the website or Facebook page for more details. We can’t guarantee that you’ll have perfect weather, but we know you’ll have gorgeous scenery, great music, and lots of fun!
