Greater Kennedy Plaza and the City Department of Art, Culture + Tourism invite you to Burnside Park for this FREE all-day celebration including live art-making, family activities, performances and food trucks.
Visit Kennedy Plaza’s Facebook page for weather updates! The celebration now begins at 5 PM with RISD alum Yarrow Thorne’s interactive art display, Providence Under Pressure: Urban Street Art Exposed, on East Approach between the skating rink and Burnside Park.
Enjoy live music starting with kid-friendly Keith Munslow at 5 PM followed by local celebrity DJs at 6:30, the Extraordinary Rendition Band at 7, Brooklyn band Bird Dog at 7:30, and Boo City at 9. Throughout the night, you’ll see Big Nazo Puppets, amazing exhibits from the Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art, skateboarding demonstrations in the rink, and a large-scale interacting mapping project by local artist Andrew Oesch. Show up thirsty and hungry, and grab drinks at the beer garden along with dinner from our fantastic local food trucks.
