You don’t have to wait until Memorial Day to enjoy the outdoors! InDowncity Providence is hosting its 2nd annual Cinco de Mayo block party on Westminster Street between Eddy and Union. On Saturday May 5th from 4-8 pm, the street will be filled with performers, children’s activities, and food! Mariachi de Brown will play from 4-5 pm, followed by DJs spinning for the rest of the night. Kids will have a blast smashing pinatas created by Craftland artists, playing games, and doing arts & crafts with the folks from Homestyle. You’ll also find vintage records and unique wares at the Providence Rock and Roll Yard Sale in Grant’s Block, right on the corner of Westminster and Union.

Prefer your food with a spicy kick? You’ll have plenty of tacos to pick from. Mijos Tacos and Poco Loco food trucks will be on site, while Gracie’s and tazza caffe will be cooking outdoors. Just a block away, Aspire Seasonal Kitchen will have a special Cinco de Mayo menu in its gorgeous courtyard at the Hotel Providence.

Don’t fret when the party ends. Westminster Street has plenty of festivities planned throughout the summer including the Providence Art Festival on June 2nd. More details will follow soon!
