On Sunday morning, October 14th, join survivors, caregivers, friends, and family in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk to support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives from breast cancer. Register online in advance, or check in on site on the day of the walk. The registration area opens at 7:30 AM at the Alex and Ani City Center, where you’ll also find merchandise, the survivor area, a health & wellness area and other related activities. Survivors will have an opportunity to receive special recognition, participate in the Wall of Hope, take event pictures at the step-and-repeat, and come interact with tent sponsor, Lifespan.
The 3-mile walk starts at 9 AM on Exchange Terrace, where the finish line is also located. This is not a race, and everyone walks together. When the final walker crosses the finish line, the walk concludes.
Plan ahead and read the Making Strides FAQs before driving downtown. Large crowds are expected, and shuttle buses are scheduled to take people to and from the event from the CORO Building on Hoppin Street and the American Cancer Society’s office in Warwick. Please note that 27 RIPTA routes will have detours to accommodate this event between 8:15 AM and 1:30 PM.
