5 Events Not to Miss This Weekend

Tacos, mint juleps, energy drinks…you might need all three this weekend in Downtown Providence. Whether you’re visiting the neighborhood from Denver or Tiverton, plan out your weekend and you won’t miss out on any of the action.

Indowncity’s Cinco de Mayo TacoFest
This family-friendly annual event is returning to Westminster Street for another year, and it is planning to be even more delicious with over a dozen food and drink vendors. Plus, the Providence Rock and Roll Yard Sale with set up with a carefully curated group of handmade and vintage vendors. May 5•11AM – 6PM 

Jane’s Walk
Gain a new perspective on neighborhoods around the city during Jane’s Walk. Join up with one of these free citizen-led walks, no tickets are required. Check out their full schedule to find a walk interesting to you. May 4 – 6

Kentucky Derby Party at Rogue Island
Dust off your fancy hats and come to Rogue Island thirsty for mint juleps. Located inside the Arcade, this party will have a best dressed contest, live music and lots of fun giveaways with festive prizes. May 5•9AM – 11:30PM

Providence Marathon
The 11th running of the Providence Marathon gets started in the heart of Downtown Providence and includes a full marathon, half marathon, 5k and kids fun run. Please be advised there will be street closures in the neighborhood due to the race, you find details or download a map of the impacted areas here. May 6 • 7:30AM – 1:30PM

Eurydice at Pell Chafee Performance Center
Going to a production of the Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Program is a unique opportunity to see students who will be gracing the stages of major theaters in just a few years. Eurydice, a play by Sarah Ruhl, will featuring the Acting Class of 2019 and is directed by student Addie Gorlin ’19. May 6 • 7:30PM
