Trinity Rep Kicks Off 2017/18 Season with Two Shows on the American Dream, Then and Now

Trinity Rep’s 2017-18 season begins with the powerful pairing of two plays, Arthur Miller’s Pulitzer-prize winning American masterpiece, Death of a Salesman, and Skeleton Crew, written by contemporary theatrical voice Dominique Morisseau. Both plays are performed in Trinity Rep’s Dowling Theater and bring distinct yet complementary perspectives to the role of the American worker and the quest for the American Dream.

Running from September 28th through November 26th, Death of a Salesman is directed by Brian McEleney and features Stephen Berenson as Willy Loman. In this classic yet relevant tale of the perilously high cost of the American Dream, Loman desperately craves success, but his stark reality cannot live up to his dreams. His delusions crumble around him, while he searches in vain for a hidden path to greatness.

Off-Broadway play Skeleton Crew is set in Detroit as the Great Recession begins. A makeshift family of four factory workers must decide how they will balance their own desires, their loyalty to one another, and their survival, with their futures uncertain. The show runs from October 1st through November 22nd.
