Want to explore the Ocean State this summer without getting in your car? Take the Providence-Newport ferry, which is back in service for a second season! Operated by Seastreak, the ferry runs daily through October 1st, from the terminal at 25 India Street in Providence to 39 Americas Cup Avenue in Newport. Bike racks and free daytime parking spots are available nearby. Complimentary shuttle bus service is also available between the Providence train station, Kennedy Plaza, RI Convention Center, and the ferry terminal.
On Fridays and Saturdays, five hour-long trips are scheduled each way, leaving Providence at 9:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 3:30 PM, 6:30 PM, and 9:30 PM. From Newport, you can return at 11AM, 2 PM, 5 PM, 8 PM, and 10:45 PM. From Sunday through Thursday, four trips are scheduled each way, leaving Providence at 9:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 3:30 PM, and 6:30 PM. From Newport, you can return at 11AM, 2 PM, 5 PM, and 8 PM.
Tickets are $10 each way for adults, and $5 each way for children ages 3-12, seniors age 65+, and people with disabilities. Infants, ages 2 and younger, are free. Online tickets are available.
