To make on-street parking easier, the city launched Passport, an app that allows drivers to pay for metered parking from their phones. Simply download the Passport Parking app from the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play, or manage your parking online through ppprk.com. Instead of paying for parking with coins, you’ll purchase parking through the app, monitor your session, and if needed, extend your time remotely. If you come into Providence often, you can also preload funds onto your Passport wallet for payment.
The app is available at on-street metered parking where you see Passport signage. Within the downtown area, you’ll find signs on Westminster Street, Union Street, and Canal Street. All streets with meters will be included in the program, and the rollout will continue through the spring. Look for more signs over the next few weeks!
