Plan to take a LONG lunch break next Friday, September 16th. You’ll need time to explore the many parklets participating in PARK(ing) Day, an annual international event that’s been celebrated locally for the past 4 years. Organized in Providence by the American Institute of Architects, RI Chapter and the RI Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, PARK(ing) Day aims to activate metered parking spaces as sites for creative experimentation and social interaction. Read the manifesto here!
Check out the downtown parklets by following this map, or join The Providence Foundation for a lunchtime tour at noon, starting at 191 Westminster Street.
