Get to know one of our expanding downtown institutions, Roger Williams University! On Saturday, September 10th, celebrate the opening of Roger Williams’ new Providence campus at One Empire Street at Roger on the Block, presented by RWU, RWU Law, RWU School of Continuing Studies, and RWU School of Justice. The free block party runs from 1-5 PM on Empire Street between Washington and Westminster, and features live music, cultural performances, family activities, food trucks, and community resources.

Learn about RWU’s neighbors and partners that provide educational, arts and cultural, and social service programming–such as AS220, Grow Smart RI, Housing Works RI, Latino Policy Institute, Providence Public Library, Rhode Island Housing, and Trinity Rep.

Kids can play with a large parachute, a bubble area, and sidewalk chalk, while enjoying popcorn and snowcones. They can get their faces painted, watch Art on the Spot create balloon animals, and participate in hands-on activities with Miss Katie of playSCIENCE.
