Gallery Night Providence: 2015 Season

diaz_tamara_La_Cas#2950B87EGallery Night’s 19th season kicks off on March 19th!  Enjoy this free, fun-filled introduction to the city’s art scene on the third Thursday of each month through November, from 5-9 PM.

Twenty-three of Providence’s hot art spots will be open, including galleries, museums and historic sites. Within downtown, stop into these participating galleries and shops—AIA ri Windows on Architecture Gallery, BankRI Gallery, Copacetic Rudely Elegant Jewelry, Lore, and URI Feinstein Providence Campus Gallery—along with associate galleries at AS220 Main Gallery, AS220 Project Space, Big Nazo Lab, and the Hotel Providence Gallery Space. Plenty of other participants are within a short walking distance from downtown too.

During Gallery Night, you can park for free at One Regency Plaza at the end of Greene Street, and stop at the info center to learn more about special events and exhibitions.  You can go at your own pace, visiting as many galleries as you wish, or hop on a themed 2-hour bus tour. They leave every 20 minutes between 5:30 and 6:50 PM and feature 4 galleries each.

Gain an insider’s perspective with celebrity guided tours! This month, guides include Mayor Jorge Elorza (5:30 PM contemporary tour), Big Nazo Lab (5:50 PM contemporary tour), ceramic artist Kate Champa (6:10 PM collectors tour), Bob Dilworth (6:30 contemporary tour), and Dolores Rovnack (6:50 PM collectors ceramic tour).

Visit gallerynight.org for more details, and mark your calendars for upcoming events on April 16th, May 21st, June 18th, July 16th, August 20th, September 17th, October 15th, and November 19th.
