In its 18th year, FLICKERS: Rhode Island International Film Festival™ will screen more than 210 of the best international independent cinematic works over six days. Widely considered the largest, most prestigious film festival in New England, it qualifies for the Short Film Academy Award and the Short Documentary Academy Award through its affiliation with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
Primarily concentrated in downtown Providence, the festival also draws crowds to satellite locations across the state such as Bristol, Jamestown, Newport, and Woonsocket. Downtown venues include The Dark Lady (124 Snow Street), Metcalf Auditorium (RISD Museum, 20 N. Main Street), Paff Auditorium (URI Providence, 80 Washington Street), Providence Biltmore Hotel Ballroom (11 Dorrance Street), Providence Performing Arts Center (220 Weybosset Street), Providence Public Library (150 Empire Street), Rhode Island Foundation (1 Union Station), and the Vets (1 Avenue of the Arts).
See an exciting mix of world premieres, North American premieres, animated shorts, documentaries, children’s films, comedies, and more. Purchase individual tickets at festival venues, priced at $15 for the opening night film screening and $10 for all others.
