Our Ivy League neighbor, Brown University, is kicking off its 250th anniversary celebration this weekend! The entire community is invited to a variety of museum and gallery openings, lectures and other special events.
On Friday, March 7th, the weekend begins with a campus reception and film screening of “The Brown Difference.” From 6:30 to 7 PM, crowds will gather on the College Green for toasts and tributes, a 250th cake and spectacular fireworks. Later on, take in a men’s basketball game against Dartmouth, performances by student groups, and/or a wind symphony concert at the Salomon Center.
Saturday’s activities include tours of the medical school, the robotics lab, and other campus buildings, along with the President’s Colloquium on the virtues of a liberal arts education. Pre-register for lectures such as ‘Social Justice, Social Change: The Role of the Documentary’ and ‘Disagreement and Dissent: the Role of Revolution in Shaping our World.’
Registration is requested. For more details, visit 250.brown.edu or download a brochure.
