Downtown Providence is starting a new tradition on New Year’s Eve! Rhode Island artists have partnered with Aurora, a new arts and cultural venue at 276 Westminster Street, to welcome 2014 with a night of live music and dancing.

From 7 PM to midnight on December 31st, global folk-fusion band The Gnomes will alternate sets with the Mystic Jammers, a reggae band. Outside, multi-media presentations will appear at Grant’s Block, while The Banished Fools and the Extraordinary Rendition Band enliven the streets.

Earlier in the day, check out the Empire Review at 95 Empire! Starting at 1 PM, see performances by The Manton Avenue Project, Eric Fulford’s Create-A-Comic, Bill Harley and Keith Munslow, plus a dance party with the Extraordinary Rendition Band! Tickets are $5.
