Waterplace Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland this weekend! From 5—9:30 PM on Friday and Saturday nights, the 3rd Annual Very Special Christmas WaterFire Weekend will brighten the city. In addition to the lighting of 41 braziers between the Waterplace Park basin and Steeple Street, WaterFire will present a variety of musical performances, family activities, a festival of trees, and more.

Starting at 5:30 PM, join the WaterFire elves on the Waterplace basin stage to make ornaments, write letters to Santa and listen to live musical performances. Friday’s musical guests include the Providence Gay Men’s Choir, the Barrington High School Choir, and the Sultans of Sax, an 8-piece saxophone ensemble. On Saturday, you’ll hear the gondoliers of La Gondola Providence, RPM Voices of Rhode Island, Ye Olde English Carolers, and more.

Throughout the night, shop for jewelry, accessories, candy and more at artisans’ booths located inside the Union Station tunnel. And don’t forget to bring new unwrapped toys to the WaterFire Christmas tree in Santa’s Village at Union Station Plaza for donation to the Providence Rescue Mission!
