On Friday, September 20th, you’ll get a chance to linger within temporary 170-square foot on-street enclaves. As part of PARK(ing) Day, an annual world-wide event that raises awareness about the need for pedestrian-friendly spaces within urban environments, 17 parking spots will be redesigned as small public parks. The rule for the day is: if you can park a car in it, you can have a park in it.
Visit all the sponsored parklets while you can! From 9 AM to 5 PM, you’ll find them on Weybosset, Westminster, Washington, Empire, Eddy, Union, and other city streets. (Follow this map). For more info, follow PARK(ing) Day on Facebook and Twitter.
