John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, the definitive American tale set in the aftermath of the Great Depression, runs from September 5th through October 6th in Trinity Rep’s Dowling Theater. Following the Joads, an Oklahoma family driven from its farm and forced west to find work in California’s ‘promised land,’ the play features a 17-member cast and original music from the show’s band, 3pile. Audiences will be moved by the intimate, evocative staging, with seats on both sides of a rustic country bar, where bartenders will serve them before and after the performance.
Discounted preview tickets are available on September 5th through the 7th at 7:30 PM. Friday, September 6th is Pay What You Can night, with tickets going on sale at 6:30 PM. Tickets for the rest of the show’s run can be purchased online at trinityrep.com, by phone at (401) 351-4242 or at the Trinity Rep box office, 201 Washington Street, for $28-$68.
