Manton Avenue Project summer plays at 95 Empire

93On Thursday, August 1st and Friday, August 2nd at 7 PM, you’ll have a chance to see the Manton Avenue Project’s (MAP) summer plays—“A River Runs Through It: The Woonasquatucket River Plays”—performed downtown at 95 Empire. These 10-minute original performances have been created by six youth playwrights who’ve participated in a special 4-week program.

MAP’s mission is to unleash the creative voices of children living in Providence’s Olneyville neighborhood by uniting them with theater professionals to create plays together. Through a partnership between MAP and the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, the plays focus on the neighborhood themes of river history and watershed stewardship.

The plays are free, but reservations are encouraged. Call (401) 331-7007 or visit mantonavenueproject.org for more information.
