Soak up the sun on one of the longest days of the year with good friends, tasty food, cold drinks, live music and family programming! Greater Kennedy Plaza’s summer season officially kicks off on Saturday, June 22nd from 3-10 PM at the 2nd Annual Summer Solstice Celebration.

From 3-6 PM, enjoy FREE family-friendly interactive activities and musical performances in Burnside Park. At 4, Avenue Sandwich is taking over the rink with live DJing, street-style skating, and graffiti art. Throughout the afternoon, you’ll see performances by Jump! Dance Company, Girls Rock RI, and the Extraordinary Rendition Band.

Trinity Brewhouse’s Beer Garden opens at 6, and live music starts at 7. Listen to Gentlemen Hall, Family of the Year, and The Silks on the grassy lawn near Bajnotti Fountain. When you get hungry, check out a variety of local food trucks including Sprout, Mama Kim’s Korean BBQ, Rocket Fine Street Food, Panino Express, Munchies, Like No Udder, and PVD Pudding Pops.

After the celebration, keep coming back to Kennedy Plaza throughout the summer season! Weekly programming includes Kidoinfo Providence Story Time, Art in the Park, Farm Fresh Rhode Island’s Downtown Farmers Market, and the Burnside Park Beer Garden Music Series.
