Tweed Ride PVD

tweedride pvdNever experienced a Tweed Ride? The stylish phenomenon that started in London is now happening in Providence, thanks to Greater Kennedy Plaza and the RISD Museum. On Sunday, April 28th, you’ll now have a chance to join hundreds of other cyclists dressed in formal British attire for a leisurely ride across the city to celebrate the RISD Museum’s newest exhibit: Artist/Rebel/Dandy: Men of Fashion.

Meet by the General Burnside statue in Burnside Park for registration, starting at 9:30. The ride officially starts at 10:30, so don’t be late! You’ll pedal over to the Steel Yard for tea before turning back toward the museum for the opening cocktail party at the Chace Center entrance. Celebrity judges will award prizes for the best vintage bicycle, most daring, most fabulous hairstyle and more.

Buy tickets in advance for $10. The Tweed Ride is sponsored by The Providence Tourism Council, Legend Bicycle, Circle A Cycles, Spiffy Gents, Recycle-A-Bike, Cleverhood, East Coast Greenway, New England Bike-Walk Summit, and New England Builder’s Ball.
