In a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for FirstWorks audiences, America’s premier dance company, the Joffrey Ballet, will perform in Providence for the first time at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, March 19th. The performance at Providence Performing Arts Center celebrates the 100th anniversary of Stravinsky’s groundbreaking ballet, Rite of Spring, which will be paired with Age of Innocence by dancer/choreographer Edwaard Liang and a world premiere of Son of Chamber Symphony by Stanton Welch.
In addition to the performance, FirstWorks is hosting a variety of educational and community programs including master classes by the Joffrey company and a talk by Artistic Director, Ashley C. Wheater.
Tickets for March 19th start at $23 and may be purchased online at ppacri.org or by calling (401) 421-ARTS. For more information, visit first-works.org.
