Keep your eyes open for the brand new downtown neighborhood guides with bright yellow covers, now available at the Rhode Island Convention Center’s visitor information center. Soon, you’ll also find them at downtown hotels, restaurants, shops, and events.
The guides combine the best features of the two separate downtown marketing materials that we’ve printed regularly for years: the large folded maps and the stapled dining guide booklets. By expanding to a 24 page format, we’ve been able to include more descriptive business listings, larger photos, and a special fold-out parking map in the back that identifies each lot. Downtown shops, restaurants, and cultural venues are also numbered in their locations on the centerfold map, making them simple to find.
Alicia Philippe, Visitor Services Manager for the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau has said, “People like that the new guide is in one piece, so that they don’t have to carry several pieces of paper. It’s compact and easy to use.”
The guides complement this website and match the listings within our online directory. As business hours and offerings change, we will continue to update the online listings, and we will eventually print new guides. Feel free to download a copy here before you explore downtown Providence!
