Gallery Night: Third Thursdays

Although it’s getting dark earlier and temperatures are dropping, there’s still plenty to do downtown after work. On Thursdays October 20th and November 17th, experience Gallery Night from 5-9 PM. Hop on an art bus at Regency Plaza for a private 2-hour guided tour! The first bus leaves at 5:30, two leave at 6, one leaves at 6:30, and the last one leaves at 7. Regency Plaza is north west of the intersection of Washington and Greene streets, behind the Providence Public Library.

At 6 PM, celebrity guide Deb Dormody will lead you to 5 downtown galleries: AIAri (Windows on Architecture Gallery), Bank RI, Copacetic, Craftland and URI. Deb brings a unique perspective as the Program Manager for Greater Kennedy Plaza and an organizer of Craftland, a one-of-a-kind shop and gallery on Westminster Street. She also founded If’n Books + Marks in 2000 and sells her handmade blank journals and photo albums to over 200 stores around the country.

Feel free to experience Gallery Night on your own without a tour. While you’re walking around the neighborhood, visit other participating galleries: Picture This, Big Nazo Lab, and the RISD Museum of Art. And if you’re looking for a great place for dinner, our downtown directory will guide you to dozens of delicious options.
