This weekend-long celebration promotes breast cancer awareness, education, support and hope. Organized by the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, the events start on Friday, October 7th and run through Sunday, October 9th. Highlights include the Flames of Hope Opening Reception at 6:30 PM on Friday, the full day Celebration Village in Station Park on Saturday, the Illuminations of Life Ceremony and Torch Procession at 6:30 PM on Saturday leading up to Waterfire, and the Gloria Gemma 5K on Sunday.
Events are located in Capital Center, between Francis Street, Finance Way, and Gaspee Street. The Celebration Village stays open on Saturday from noon to midnight, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore the United Healthcare Zone, Healing Garden, Education & Wellness Pavilion and more. Enjoy performers on the Main Stage: The Rhythm Room at 2 PM, 5 Flavor Discount at 3:30 PM, and Santa Mamba at 8 PM.
Feel free to sample lots of Gregg’s Cake for the Cure, with all proceeds benefiting the foundation. You can work off all those calories running the 5K on Sunday. Think pink this weekend!
