Downtown Providence Welcomes Viva Mexico!

To celebrate Mexican Independence Day, AS220 and Providence city officials will welcome Viva Mexico! Cantina & Grill into its new home at 129 Washington Street on Friday, September 16th. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30 PM, guests will enjoy live Mariachi and Folklorico dancers, free giveaways, and of course, delicious food until 1 in the morning!

Now that Viva Mexico! has opened, the 45,000 square foot Mercantile Block is fully occupied, housing live/work studios, arts-related offices, and 2 other locally owned commercial businesses, The Stable and Clark the Locksmith. To complete the building’s restoration, its back alley (now known as Lucie Way) has been transformed into an active pedestrian walkway with decorative lighting, landscaping, stamped pavers, and outdoor seating.

Congratulations to the Ruiz family on opening their second restaurant in Providence!
